I seldom have the luxury of sustained conviction in my own inward excellence, so it doesn't come as a big surprise when I find "oh, hey, messed up again, gotta find out how to do it better now".
That's one of the insights disability brings to the social-justice project, beautifully phrased!

As Joanna Russ explores in How To Suppress Women's Writing, while the experience of different marginalizations is not commutative—a white lesbian can't experience life as an African-American transwoman—the mechanisms of oppression are often similar. Hence "othering," and "horizontal hostility," and "passing" can be used against all of us in similar ways.
