Things are higgledy-piggledy here again, and I am spending a fair amount of time waiting for others' news and decisions. So I'm not adding any other stress right at the moment. Hope to resume next week.

 * Get to this week's Ingersoll Center meeting unless there's a genuinely serious reason not to.
* Take 3 photos I want to share on Deviantart, or 5 for Flickr sharing.
* Read 2 books for pleasure.
* Read 2 books for work.
* Work on my personal project every day.
* Walk 15 minutes every day.
* Set a time for hosting Mom, unless she prefers to let scheduling wait another week.
* Catch fully up on laundry.

Yes, I'm mostly repeating. :)

+ Get to this week's Ingersoll Center meeting unless there's a genuinely serious reason not to. (There was: allergy hell. It was safer to be in.)

+ Read 2 books for work.
- Work on my personal project every day. (Allergy hell interfered.)
+ Walk 15 minutes every day. (I peddled on days I didn't walk.)
+ Set a time for hosting Mom, unless she prefers to let scheduling wait another week. (She wants to get a couple current medical things done first.)
- Catch fully up on laundry. (Allergy hell again.)

Not bad!

Time to get back on track! I celebrate my disengagement from various nuisances with new goals.

This has been nearly a completely lost week. Almost nothing done and a lot of time spent discouraged. Part of it is having utterly failed to be anything like helpful to a friend in severe need, and worn down by the effort and the failure. Part of it is just physical—I have to remind myself that fat burning has nasty detoxing side effects for me, and talk to my doctor again this week.

Sometimes it's good to press on anyway, and sometimes it's good to stop poking yourself a while. I need to get the basics in order this week and then see what next; I know I'm not thinking productively right now.

The heat's behind me for now, time to get back on track.

* Collect 2 glucose readings each day, dammit.
* Try one new recipe.
* Take 3 photos worth sharing on Deviantart, or 5 for Flickr.
* Make 1 new Project N post.
* Write 1 review and 1 other post for the group blog.
* Take 10,000 steps at least 1 day.
* Read 2 books for research and 2 for pleasure.
* Get caught up on invoicing.

Last week I focused on getting through the week, and it worked. I did get some fun pictures of ice in my bottle, ate satisfactorily, and like that, and did resume work on Project N.

This week I find myself filled with the great desire to get some domestic work done. My wardrobe has never, ever been in a good state of order. I get slovenly and distracted, and end up with piles of clothes and stuff every which way. It's better than usual right now, but I'd like it to be actually good. So I plan to take this week and, while doing the audiobook part of my research, get my clothes for true in proper order. I can see what I'll need to shop for once I have a better sense of what I'm keeping, and get the rest of the discards over to Goodwill.

I don't know if a week will be enough time, but it'll certainly be enough for a good start and an appraisal of the rest.

It's been one of those weeks. Heat wave arrived, and I've just plain been tired and stressed. My wonderful counselor spoke vigorously on the theme of "Get some rest time. You need it." So I'm doing that.

- Keep on top of the medical stuff: go to diabetes training, talk to DSHS about hormone approvals.
+ Go to this week's Ingersoll Center session if and only my stomach is up to it; if not, don't push it. (Skipped it because of the heat.)
- Get all the remaining clothes ready for donation over to Goodwill, and the old hamper too.
+ Replace 3 high-carbohydrate foods in my diet with low-carbohydrate alternatives.+
+ Read 2 books for pleasure.
partial + Resume work on Project N; read 2 books for research purposes,
- Pick 2 things that'll help with feminine presentation and work on them.
+ Take 5 pictures I want to share on Flickr, or 3 on Deviantart.

I'm going to take a week off of weekly goals. It's going to be a physically demanding week because of the heat and adapting to the new, full dosage of metformin, and I have no goals beyond staying out of trouble and getting through it. I'll post whatever accomplishments there may be, but a checklist doesn't seem like the thing this week.

Partial +. Keep on top of the medical stuff: go to diabetes training, talk to DSHS about hormone approvals. (I wimped out on calling DSHS, overwhelmed by diabetes stuff.)
+ Go to this week's Ingersoll Center session if and only my stomach is up to it; if not, don't push it. (Felt sick, knew it, stayed home, didn't have a disaster.)
- Get all the remaining clothes ready for donation over to Goodwill, and the old hamper too.
+ Resist the urge to experiment with new crockpot recipes until I have two consecutive days of good stomach behavior; until then, stick to the familiar.
+ See if I can update my photo ID by mail; if not, do it in person. (Info in hand, need to do it. But not till after the current heatwave settles.)
+ Read three books for pleasure.
+ Leave Project N alone this week, and don't do anything ambitious about the new project. Vignettes and worldbuilding are acceptable. (Worldbuilding has happened, and there'll be notes this week, likely.)
Partial +. Take 5 pictures I want to share. (4 up on Deviantart, and I'm modifying the definition of this for the new week.)

I'm finding this a really valuable exercise. Today I was thoroughly down from being so sick, and finding I'd done much more than I felt I had was so good for me. So.

+ Keep on top of the medical stuff: get prescriptions filled, appointments kept, instructions followed.
+ Go to this week's Ingersoll Center session.
+ Get shorts and shirts ordered.
+ Do one more round of wardrobe pruning.
- Assuming it really does cool off, try two new crock pot recipes.
+ Keep on top of discussions of wifi problems with iPod Touch and iPhone OS 3.0; try fixes; keep a record of things tried and results obtained.
+ Read three books for pleasure.
+ Do 5 hours' free writing, either on any subject or on the new idea.
+ Continue to leave Project N alone.
partial + Take 5 pictures I want to share.

I only have 3 pictures to share this week, but I liked them enough to put them up on Deviant Art, which is my marker for "I think there's some art here".

I was just too damn tired to experiment with cooking, but I did shop for it and can try stuff this week.

Thinking about writing went really, really well, and will get a post of its own later.

+ Prepare notes and questions for counselor and doctor sessions. Go feeling prepared.
+ Choose places to eat after Wednesday and Friday appointments. Enjoy two meals out. (A bagel sandwich, and some glorious waterfront teriyaki.)
- Shop for some shorts in preparation for time with compression devices. Allow myself one clothing indulgence.
+ Check out vascular specialists; go to Friday appointment with a reaction and preference.
partial + Get clothes ready for donation to Goodwill donated.
+ Read three books purely for pleasure, with no thought of work relevance. (The Strain, Elric: To Rescue Tanelorn, Santa Olivia; reviews later.)
+ Do 5 hours' free writing, with no topicality constraints at all.
+ Fight down the urge to do anything about Project N this week, except maybe finishing the research reading in progress. Respect the stress, dammit.
+ Take 5 pictures I want to share.

Not bad!
