At this pace I wouldn't even have 10,000 words by the end of the month, and stressing about it isn't helping.

I want to tell this story, but I think I'll do better to give up on the timetable and let it take its time.

Darn it, I wanted to have my first new-persona year include a NaNoWriMo success at last. Maybe next year.

I think if you got a story you want to tell out of it, it's a success. Do it at its own pace.

You're not alone. I feel accomplished if I get a couple-hundred words out in a day.

Guh, I need to be medicated.

Well, I got 194 words, which is some shy of 50K. My excuse is that the sequence of events that led to my laptop transition left me without a machine. In truth, I could have kicked the kids off of the old XP desktop if I really wanted to. On the bright side, 1) My wife has done really well this time and may win; 2) I plan to take my new Macbook-and-Scrivener setup into NaNoFIMo next month and bang out the lost section of *First-Level Humans* from my winning 2007 stint.
